Press Release

FastLabel Inc. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-Ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takeshi Suzuki; hereinafter “FastLabel”), a company supporting the development of robot foundation models and domain-specific Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, has released OpenLUTRA, an open-source application that streamlines the collection and analysis of data for robot training.
We are pleased to announce that OpenLUTRA now supports the collection of teleoperation data for Physical AI using MOTOMAN NEXT, an AI robot with autonomous capabilities developed by Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Headquarters: Kitakyushu, Fukuoka; Representative Director, Chairman and President: Hiroshi Ogasawara; hereinafter "Yaskawa Electric").
By building a data pipeline based on the integration of OpenLUTRA and MOTOMA NEXT, high-quality datasets for Physical AI development can be efficiently generated.
About MOTOMAN NEXT
MOTOMAN NEXT is an AI robot equipped with an Autonomous Control Unit (ACU), enabling the robot itself to recognize and assess changes in its surrounding environment and to plan and execute actions in real time. Equipped with a GPU for AI processing, as well as a wide range of sensors and built-in functions, the robot enables partners and users to easily develop the capabilities they require as software packages and seamlessly integrate them into the robot.
In a wide range of industries, including factory automation (FA), food, logistics, and agriculture, MOTOMAN NEXT aims to automate tasks that have been difficult to automate using the conventional teach-and-playback method, in which industrial robots repeatedly perform predefined motions.
About OpenLUTRA
OpenLUTRA is an open-source application released by FastLabel for recording and analyzing the quality of data necessary for building AI models for robot control. Equipped with an intuitive UI/UX and a curation function based on automated quality judgment, it enables even non-engineers to conduct robot data collection and ensures the quality of the collected data.
